Environmental Concerns

In recent years, terms like "going green" and "eco-friendly" have become buzz words on news and talk shows, commercials, and product packaging. The term "eco-friendly" has been used for so many different products and practices, we worry that these terms no longer server their initial purpose. In the design of all our products "going green" and "eco-friendly" has NOT lost its meaning.

A type of plastic known as vinyl or PVC is the least post-consumer recycled plastic, per usage amount, in the United States. The Environmental Protection Agency calculates that 910,000 tons of PVC waste are generated annually but less than a quarter of 1 percent is recovered for recycling.

Nearly all IT tiles are made from recycled vinyl. We have hired companies to find and collect recycled medical grade Polyvinyl for our patented injection process. It is with regret that we are unable to produce a few colors with the recycled material, white being one of them.

Recycle

Recycling products at the end of their useful lives presents the greatest challenge in terms of economically viable collection, sorting and cleaning. The recovery of our products which have come to the end of their use is a challenge which also applies to most other synthetic materials. We offer a service that benifits everyone.

If at which time you have decided that you no longer require your ITtile, give us a call and we will make arrangements to collect the old floor. Sometimes customers like to change the color of their floors every so many years, by having us pick up the tile we will make sure it is either reused or recycled.
